Terms of Service

1. Who these terms are between

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are between you and Edhar Older, an individual in the European Union trading as Talevara (“Talevara”, “we”, “us”). Talevara is free to use and is not a separate registered company. Contact [email protected] or use the linked support routes for product, privacy, legal, consumer, or regulatory questions.

If you use Talevara on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization. Mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live are not excluded by these Terms.

2. Eligibility and accounts

Account creation and Creator Studio are not blanket 18+ features. Active accounts may use Creator Studio, subject to applicable law and account status. Age-restricted stories are separately gated: Mature requires a 16+ self-attestation and Adult requires an 18+ self-attestation. Creating an account does not grant access to restricted stories. Account use remains subject to the minimum-age and consent rules applicable where a person lives. Talevara does not collect a birth date at ordinary account registration; the separate Mature/Adult story check is not proof of identity or general account eligibility. People under 18 are not categorically excluded from accounts or Creator Studio; access remains subject to applicable law and account status. Mature (16+) and Adult (18+) story access is gated separately by the story-rating check.

Provide accurate account information, keep credentials secure, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity conducted through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.

3. What Talevara provides

Talevara provides free public reading and discovery, linear and branching story creation, story-cover uploads, account management, support, and safety reporting. New stories and changes to published stories require manual review before publication. Community features and paid services are not currently available.

Talevara does not currently offer paid checkout, subscriptions, advertising, premium access, creator monetization, or payouts. No creator should expect payment for activity on the service.

4. Your content remains yours

You retain the intellectual-property rights you already hold in stories, chapters, covers, interactive structures, and other material you submit (“User Content”). Uploading content does not transfer ownership to Talevara.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights and permissions needed to publish your User Content, including third-party text, artwork, music, trademarks, translations, adaptations, and other protected material.

5. License you give Talevara

When you make User Content available through Talevara, you grant Talevara a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, display, perform where technically relevant, format, encode, resize, and distribute that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, moderate, and present the Talevara service and to make your content available according to the visibility and publishing choices you select.

The license also allows Talevara to create service-format adaptations such as thumbnails, previews, excerpts, device-compatible versions, accessibility formats, and cached copies. Outside the service, we use your published work only to identify or promote Talevara and the specific content you chose to publish.

This license ends when the relevant content is removed from public availability, except for reasonable backup, legal, security, audit, and dispute-retention periods and copies that must be retained to respect other users’ lawful access rights. Retention mechanics are described in the applicable privacy, account, and content policies.

6. Rules for content and behavior

You must follow the Community Guidelines, Content & Publishing Guidelines, AI Content Policy, and applicable law. These policies explain prohibited conduct, publication standards, required labels, intellectual-property rules, and safety restrictions.

Fiction may depict difficult, disturbing, political, religious, violent, or morally objectionable subjects without necessarily endorsing them. Talevara may nevertheless require ratings, warnings, age restrictions, limited discovery, or other presentation controls where content could reasonably surprise or harm readers.

7. AI-assisted and generated material

AI-assisted or AI-generated material is allowed only under the AI Content Policy. Materially AI-generated text, images, audio, or other story assets must be labelled when the policy requires it. You remain responsible for rights, accuracy of disclosures, and policy compliance regardless of which tools were used to create the content.

8. Paid services

Talevara does not sell paid services or request payment-card details. If a screen asks you to pay or you believe you were charged, do not enter payment details; contact Support with a non-sensitive reference. Never send a full card number, password, or authentication code.

If Talevara offers a paid service in the future, we will provide its price and terms before you make a purchase. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights.

9. Creator monetization

Talevara does not offer creator monetization, revenue sharing, advertising revenue, tips, or payouts. Publishing a story does not create an expectation of payment.

If creator payments are introduced, separate terms will explain how they work before creators can participate.

10. Discovery and recommendations

Explore presents public stories using story information, reader-selected filters, and editorial controls. Talevara does not offer paid placement or rank stories using an individual reader’s activity.

11. Moderation and enforcement

Talevara may take proportionate action when content or conduct violates these Terms, platform policies, or law. Actions may include a warning, content label, age restriction, reduced visibility, content removal, or account restriction.

Where required by law or provided by Talevara policy, affected users will receive a clear reason and an opportunity to appeal. See Moderation & Appeals.

12. Illegal content and intellectual-property reports

Use the dedicated reporting routes for allegedly illegal content and the Copyright & IP Policy for copyright or trademark concerns. Notices must be sufficiently specific to identify the material and explain the basis of the report.

13. Third-party services

Talevara may rely on third-party infrastructure or link to external services. Third parties may have their own terms and privacy practices. Talevara is responsible for its own obligations but does not control independent third-party services.

14. Service changes and availability

Talevara may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features for product, legal, safety, technical, or business reasons. We will explain material changes to the service and provide advance notice where required by law.

15. Closing your account

Account deletion is available in Settings. You may choose to close sign-in access while retaining data; erase personal data and unpublished work while retaining published stories, with a choice to keep or anonymize the pen name; or erase the account and all stories, drafts, versions, and covers. Submitting a choice disables sign-in immediately and cannot be cancelled. Full personal-data erasure anonymizes attribution by default. Necessary legal, safety, security, support, or dispute records may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy.

16. Service warranties

Talevara will provide the service with the level of care required by applicable law. Because an online service cannot be guaranteed to be uninterrupted or error-free at all times, no promise of continuous availability is made beyond mandatory legal requirements. Nothing in these Terms limits statutory guarantees or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

17. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or protections that cannot lawfully be waived.

18. Disputes and governing law

Nothing in these Terms removes mandatory consumer or privacy rights, or prevents you from contacting a regulator or bringing a claim before a court where the law allows.

19. Changes to these Terms

We will identify the effective date of changes and explain material updates. Updated Terms do not remove rights that already apply to you under law.
