In short
Necessary storage supports sign-in, security, privacy choices, and features you request. Optional story metrics are used only when the feature is available and you opt in. Talevara does not use advertising or marketing trackers.
1. What cookies are
Cookies and similar technologies can store or read information on a device so a service can remember sessions, preferences, measurement identifiers, or other state.
2. Current categories
| Category | Purpose | Default approach |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Authentication, security, abuse prevention, consent choices, core session state, requested account settings. | Used when necessary for the requested service; not used for advertising. |
| Preferences | Reader display choices, language, accessibility and convenience settings. | Stored when requested by the user or when consent is required and given. |
| Analytics | Consent-gated first-party daily counts of public-story opens, reading starts, chapter reads, and completions; not reader histories. | Used only when the feature is available and you opt in; no third-party analytics vendor is connected. |
| Advertising and marketing | Advertising measurement, personalization, or third-party marketing pixels. | Not used by Talevara. |
| Embedded media | Third-party media or widgets that may set their own storage. | Block or gate where required until consent. |
3. Privacy and storage controls
You can accept or reject optional story metrics and change your choice later in privacy settings. If metrics are available and you opt in, Talevara records daily counts for each public story—opens, reading starts, chapter reads, and completions. These counts are not tied to your account or session and are kept for no more than 30 days. Rejecting or withdrawing consent stops future collection.
4. Cookie and storage inventory
Cookies and browser storage help Talevara sign you in, remember your privacy choices, and keep the settings and story information needed for features you request.
| Category | What it does | How long it remains |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in and security | Session storage used by Talevara and its sign-in provider to keep your account signed in and secure. | Until sign-out, session expiry, or browser controls clear it. |
| Privacy choices | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected optional story metrics. | Until you change the choice or clear browser storage. |
| Optional story metrics | After you opt in, temporary events are sent as daily counts for public stories. They do not include account or session identifiers. | Temporary events are discarded after sending, when consent is withdrawn, or when the page closes. Aggregate counts are kept for no more than 30 days. |
| Requested story and Reader data | When local or offline use is available, browser storage may keep drafts, cover details, reading progress, saved stories, or Reader preferences. | Until the data is deleted, the local store is reset, or browser storage is cleared. |
| Interface preferences | Remembers requested Creator Studio and Reader display choices, such as layout or filter settings. | Until you change the preference or clear browser storage. |
| Optional reliability diagnostics | If enabled, limited performance or error information may be stored locally to help troubleshoot the service. It is not used for advertising. | Stored in your browser until cleared. |
5. Browser controls
Users may also use device or browser controls. Blocking strictly necessary storage may prevent account or security functions from working.
6. Updates
We update this policy when our use of cookies or similar storage changes. The effective date above shows when this policy was last updated.
