Summary
The Reader’s progress indicator describes your route through the story, not how far you have scrolled down the page.
Steps
- Open a story and use its Reader progress indicator to see your position along the narrative route or preview, as labeled.
- In a branching story, follow a choice and note that your route can differ from another reader’s route through the same work.
- Use Continue Reading or the Library to return to saved progress where account sync or the current device has a usable record.
- For a data copy, use Account’s export flow; optional story metrics are separate and contain aggregate event counts only.
What to expect
- Route progress is not a scroll percentage and does not represent every possible branch in an interactive story.
- Your reading progress is account or device data used to resume reading; it is distinct from analytics and is not used to rank Explore recommendations.
- If optional metrics are available, they count public-story opens, starts, chapter reads, and completions by story/day after consent and deployment enablement.
Troubleshooting
- If the progress label and your current passage disagree, reload the story and continue from the visible chapter or segment.
- If progress is missing, confirm the account and browser storage you used previously, then check the Library for the same story.
- For a repeated mismatch, send reading support the story URL, the label shown, and the chapter—never a password or private token.
