Summary
Choices turn a sequence of passages into a branching story by routing readers to destinations you define.
Steps
- Add a choice at the point where the reader should make a meaningful decision.
- Write a concise label that tells readers what their selection represents without promising an outcome the story cannot deliver.
- Set the destination to an existing chapter or scene, then verify that it is the intended next passage.
- Playtest each option from its decision point and confirm routes can continue or intentionally reach an ending.
What to expect
- A choice changes the reader’s route; it does not create a separate public story or social post.
- Some choices can lead to the same later passage, while others can create distinct scenes or endings.
- A missing destination, unreachable passage, or unintended loop should be corrected before submission for review.
Troubleshooting
- If a choice leads to the wrong passage, edit its destination and run the route again from the decision point.
- If an option is not shown, inspect its conditions and whether an earlier passage sets the required state.
- If a route cannot be tested, note the chapter, choice label, and expected destination in Creator Support.
