Start or continue a story

Summary

Find approved public stories in Explore, review their details, then start a linear reading or follow a branching path.

Steps

1. Open Explore and browse the public stories or use its search and filters to narrow the list.
2. Open a story’s detail page and read its summary, rating, content warnings, format, and availability before starting.
3. Select Start Reading for a new story or Continue Reading when a saved reading position is available.
4. For an eligible age-restricted story, sign in and set the required rating-specific access in onboarding or Settings before opening it.

What to expect

• Approved public stories without age restrictions can be explored and read without an account.
• Mature and Adult stories are not shown in public discovery; direct requests without the required signed-in age attestation receive a generic unavailable result.
• A linear story proceeds in its authored sequence; an interactive story may offer choices that lead to different chapters or scenes.

Troubleshooting

• If a story is missing from Explore, check your filters and selected rating; restricted stories are omitted rather than shown as locked cards.
• If an eligible age-restricted story is inaccessible, confirm the matching age rating in Settings and reopen the story from its approved link.
• If the Reader fails to load a public story, retry once and send Support the public story URL and the error shown.
